Marco Calzolari is an Italian multidisciplinary artist and creative technologist, born 1996 in Ferrara (FE). He’s a former experimental performing artist for Collettivo Cinetico (2014-2016), BA graduate in Industrial Design from Politecnico di Milano and MA graduate from the Royal College of Art (London). Since 2020 he has been operating under the name SINTETICO, producing work that results from the combination of insights and influences he absorbed during his background.

His practice revolves around obsession and focuses on the exploration of human consciousness through the establishment of processes, experiences and installations, conceived to invite the audience to listen, reflect, and introspect. In particular, he’s interested in the concept of “self” regarded as the individual unit which dwells in the human body and interacts with other selves through their bodily interfaces.

His works have been displayed in places such as IKLECTIK and OXO Tower (London), Art Basel (Basel), Centrale Fies (Drò), Scalo Lambrate (Milan), Osservatorio Futura (Turin).

In parallel to his personal practice he usually offers his skills as a freelancer. He's worked in the entertainment industry for musicians, music festivals, AV services providers, film production, dance and theatre companies, contemporary art and design exhibitions. On a daily basis he uses a variety of programs ranging from 2D and 3D graphics (both real-time and non) to generative AI, lighting and video mapping software.
